Quiet Day

Boy it's quiet around the house with the girls away.

Hubby & I had a nice dinner last night at a fairly new local burger bar.  We had lunch there with the girls right after Thanksgiving.  That meal was great and last nights' dinner was great as well.

I had a simple burger with stout cheddar cheese and carmelized onions.  Oh my.  So good.  The sweet potato fries were just icing on the cake.

Hubby had a Kobe burger with brie, sauteed onions, and a horseradish aioli.  It too was delicious.

Today we had a pretty low key day.  The snowstorm that was predicted to for today did.not.happen.  Seriously, 2-5" was predicted and we got NOTHING!  Oh wait, there was like 5 minutes of flurries that happened, while the sun was shining.

Clever snowstorm.  Curious to watch the weather tonight to see how the weathermen explain this failure in forecasting.  Should be interesting.

So, we went rug shopping then out for a quick lunch.  Exciting stuff, I know.

Then we came home and got Lucy, our Golden and took her for a walk.  It was a nice afternoon and Lucy had a great time playing in the streams on the trail that we walked.

Then she tromped in the mud.  And got dirty.  Really dirty.

So at the last bit of water we walked by, we tricked her.  Hubby kept throwing her tennis ball in the water so that she would go after it.  She really is the perfect retriever.

After 5-6 throws, she was pretty cleaned off and was suitable to get in the car to go home.  Just barely.

When we got home she definitely needed to be hosed off.  So that's what hubby did. And then dried her off.  She loves being dried off.  Really loves it.  She will burrow her head in the towel while hubby dries her.  Too funny.

Sitting pretty.  Waiting to get toweled off.

last little bit.  She's such a sweet dog.

potd #40.  Lucy loves our shoes.  From the very 1st day we brought her home at 8 weeks old, she has always loved to burrow her nose in our shoes.  They must smell real purty.  It's definitely true love.
