The Big Apple

We are in New York City for Thanksgiving.

Tomorrow we are going to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

A friend of ours has a connection to get a good viewing spot for the parade.

Otherwise I don't think I would be brave enough to come for the parade.

Afterwards we are going to our friends' parents' house to celebrate Thanksgiving.

We are looking forward to a fun, crazy day.

And the weather looks fantastic.

Yay!

This afternoon we did a little sightseeing.

And we met up with a friend for lunch.

Great day.

Can't go to NYC and not get a shot of the Empire State Building.

Love it.

After we met a friend for lunch, we headed down to Madison Park.

On the recommendation of our friend, S, we stopped at the Shake Shack and ate some custard.

Really, really yummy custard.

Hubby & I had the pumpkin pie flavor.  It was delicious.

The girls had chocolate/vanilla swirl with chocolate shots.

It also was really yummy.  The chocolate was rich and oh so good.

While we were enjoying our custard, we watched a gentleman with his giant bubbles.

It was fun to watch.

Once we were done, the girls wanted to head over to try making giant bubbles too.

Here is Hubby making a giant bubble with the girls looking on.

The guy has a great gig going.

Because, who doesn't like to make giant bubbles?

No one.

Kids and adults alike were having fun.

And, before you leave he has you stand still while he makes a giant bubble around you.

For a small "donation" of course.

Brilliant.

Here are E and Hubby in their giant bubble just as it was popping.

Very cool.

Here is D in her giant bubble.  Fantastic!

And again, brilliant on the bubble guys' part.

Because who doesn't want to be in a giant bubble?!?!

Right outside Madison Park is the famous Flat Iron Building.

It is such a neat building.

We had a great afternoon.

Now we are looking forward to meeting up with our friends for dinner.

And we can't wait for the parade tomorrow.

potd #324.  On our way back to the hotel, we made a side stop at Macy's.  I just love the old wooden escalators they have going up to the 6th & 7th floors.  So neat.
